DeVille will be recounting the tale of a Whaler from Scotland Yard.

It had been a while since I had last spoken to DeVille. I thought I’d give him a call. After a couple of attempts I got hold of him and, after a bit of banter, to and fro, he soon embarked on a tale I had not heard before.

“I was waiting for my fellow detective Sanderson on the “flight-deck” of the old Scotland Yard, when I spotted Jock McCrae leaving the building by a side door. I asked him where he was going and offered him a lift in the squad car.”

“The flight-deck?”, I foolishly asked.
